After all the excitement and fun of Christmas Day has passed, we still have more to celebrate and a week left of Winter Break! If you are looking for something to keep the kids busy for a little while, then try this super fun New Year’s Eve Scavenger Hunt.
How to Play New Year’s Eve Scavenger Hunt Printable Game
We first played a Christmas Scavenger Hunt with my boys while I was trying to plan fun activities for a class Christmas party. My boys ages 5, 8, and 10 loved it! We played at home and at the class Christmas party, and this game was a hit.
There are 18 themed cards that you can print and cut out. Place these cards around your home or choose a specific location. We decided to make it a little challenging and placed them on the first floor of our home (kitchen, living room, dining room).
Kids can work together or on their own. I found that kids LOVE having their own scavenger hunt card to mark off the themed cards they find.
You can then set a timer and see how many cards they can find in 5-10 minutes or you can let the game go until all the cards are found!
HELPFUL TIP: I forgot where I put one of the cards and the kids couldn’t find it either! My oldest son found it the next day and I had placed it in a wreath that was hanging on our door. Next time we play, I will make a little note to help me remember where I hide the themed cards!

Since this was such a fun activity for my kids I’m also laminating the tracking cards so the kids can use them again next year!
Kids use these cards to mark off the themed cards when they find them. They can use a pencil or marker to put an “x” or check mark. If the cards are laminated then kids can use dry erase markers to check off the themed cards they find.
