Looking for a simple scavenger hunt that can be put together quickly? This is the perfect Halloween scavenger hunt activity for kids to play at Halloween parties, class parties, or just for fun at home!

Spooky Season Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Last year my kids had a blast hunting for the Halloween pictures hidden in our home. I cut out the pictures and placed them all around the house. My boys ran around searching for the pictures and eventually ended up working together to find them all.

Side note: I may have forgotten where I hid 2 or 3 of the pictures!

This is such a great activity in late October especially if the weather is messy outside and you need something to keep the kids busy. Scavenger hunts are one of our favorite fun Halloween activities for the whole family to enjoy!

How to Set Up a Halloween Scavenger Hunt

This is a simple scavenger hunt that is really easy to set up!

All you need to do to get started is print and cut out the Halloween picture cards. These cards have all kinds of cute Halloween images like a black cat, spider webs, Halloween candy, and more!

Then you can hide the cards around your house either inside or outside. I used tape so that the cards wouldn’t fall or be blown away by the wind.

Side Note: I would definitely use a location cheat sheet for the Halloween pictures just in case you are like me and tend to forget things!

Now that all the Halloween pictures are hidden, it’s time to pass out the Halloween scavenger hunt sheets to record the Halloween pictures they find. Kids just put an ‘X’ or a checkmark next to the picture they find.

This scavenger hunt is not required to be in a specific order like other Halloween Rhyming Scavenger Hunts. That makes it super easy to set up!

Halloween Scavenger Hunt Prize Ideas

A friendly competition of Halloween scavenger hunting has to end with a prize, right?! You can choose little surprises for everyone who finishes the scavenger hunt. Or get a grand prize for the person who finishes first!

Most people would lean towards giving away fun Halloween candy as a prize, but I’m sure your kids are like mine and end up with way too much candy by the end of October!

Here are some fun Halloween non-candy treats that would be great prizes!

Host a neighborhood Halloween Scavenger Hunt using these same images! It’s pretty simple.

For the neighborhood scavenger hunt, we just enlarged the Halloween pictures. These large size Halloween pictures can be placed in neighbors windows or on their front doors.

You can download the Neighborhood Halloween Scavenger Hunt PDF (purple link below) and email to your neighbors. They can print their own scavenger hunt check off sheet. I printed off the Halloween pictures and passed them out to our neighbors so that we didn’t have neighbors with duplicate pictures.
