easy pumpkin activity for preschoolers

Sharing is caring!

Autumn craft activities are a fun way to celebrate harvest time! This apple stamping pumpkin craft is easy to prepare, and the kids love using food to make crafts.

I’m not sure what is so thrilling about stamping, but my son and his friend were having so much fun smacking their pumpkin stamps down on the paper. The kids actually made 2 more pages of pumpkin apple stamps!

As a busy mom of 3 boys, I love that this craft is easy to prepare and not too messy. All you need is some washable paint, half an apple, paper, and a little boy or girl ready to make an apple stamp pumpkin craft!

Preschool Learning Activities with Pumpkins

Talk to your preschooler about the color orange. Ask your toddler or preschooler to name other things that are orange.

Count the number of stamps. Practice counting to 10 with your preschooler. Count how many pumpkins are on the paper. Try to fit 10 pumpkins on your paper. You may need 2 sheets of paper depending on the size of your apple stamp!

Talk to your preschooler about the different parts of the pumpkin. The pumpkin has a stem, skin, and seeds. Discuss how pumpkins grow from a seed.

Compare and contrast a pumpkin and apple. Talk to your preschooler about how a pumpkin and an apple are the same and how they are different. Both have seeds on the inside, both have a stem, and are a round shape. Pumpkins are orange, grow on the ground on a vine, roast the seeds of a pumpkin. Apples are red (green or yellow), grown on a tree, don’t eat the seeds of an apple. Pumpkin Books to go Along with a Harvest Pumpkin Craft
