Ways to Use Names of Jesus Advent Ornaments
Everyone has their own unique way to use their Advent ornaments! I love the creativity that each house hold has for making Jesus the focus of their Christmas season. Here are a few ideas for involving your kids in advent activities.
- Hide the Christmas ornament around the house each day. Let kids search to find the ornament and then read the scripture together. You could start by hiding the ornament further away from the Christmas tree and get closer as each day is closer to Christmas morning.
- Have kids find the Bible verse in their Bible. It makes things simpler when the Bible verse is written on the ornament, but I think it’s helpful for kids to know that the words are actually from the Bible. Touching the physical Bible and looking up the words is a reminder that God’s word is real and true!
- Create hand motions for helping kids learn the Bible verses. They don’t have to memorize, but adding hand motions helps them remember the scripture and one of our goals is that our kids would have the scripture in their hearts. We also love these printable scripture cards for kids to help them store the Word in their hearts.
Another great way to keep Christ in the center of Christmas is to play this free printable Nativity Escape Room game with your kids! It’s a fun activity to do any time during the Christmas season or something special for Christmas Eve.
