Halloween Paint by Number for Adults
This mindful adult craft is perfect for anyone who needs a way to calm down and clear their mind. It also makes a really cute image to frame for Halloween season.
In this paint by number download you will find a color key and paint by number image.
The easiest way to select your colors for this project is to use the color key below and match up to acrylic paints. You could also mix your own paints. However, I prefer using FolkArt Acrylic paints because they have so many different colors and they are very inexpensive!
Color key (suggested):
- 1 = Cream White (warm white + touch of ochre)
- 2 = Harvest Yellow (yellow + dot of burnt sienna)
- 3 = Pumpkin Orange (orange + hint of red)
- 4 = Shadow (neutral gray, very light)
- 5 = Stem/Leaf (olive + moss mix)
How to Paint (Step-by-Step)
- Print on heavyweight paper; tape edges to a board for crisp borders.
- Use acrylic paints. My favorite acrylic paints are FolkArt Acrylics.
- Flat colors first: block in all “1s,” then “2s,” etc. Keep layers thin.
- Add depth: glaze a second layer on the shadow numbers once dry.
- Finishing pass: add tiny highlights (white gel pen) and re-ink any lost lines.
- Dry, de-tape, frame. Instant seasonal art.

- Wet media: pick 90–140 lb cardstock or watercolor paper; tape edges.
