Easter Egg Coloring Sheets

My kids love decorating Easter eggs, so I let them color and decorate a paper Easter egg. Last year we placed our Easter eggs in the windows so neighbors could drive by and hunt for the Easter eggs! It was such a fun twist on the traditional Easter Egg hunt.

Supplies:

  • Easter Egg Printable
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, Markers, Paint

Directions:

  1. Print out an Egg for each kid
  2. Let kids decorate their paper eggs
  3. Cut out the eggs or let kids cut them out
  4. Hang the Easter eggs in your windows so neighbors can hunt for them as they drive by

Easter Egg Water Color

When I was a kid I loved making secret designs on my Easter egg and watching them appear when we dyed them. This Easter egg craft is just like that! Kids use a white crayon to create a design on their egg printable and then paint it with water color. The design will appear because of the white wax crayon!

Supplies:

  • White crayon
  • Water color paint
  • Egg template PDF printable
  • Scissors

Directions:

  1. Use the white crayon to make a design
  2. Paint the egg template with water color paints
  3. Let the paint dry and then cut out the Easter egg

Shaving Cream Marbled Easter Egg

This is a fun and messy way to make Easter egg art! We had fun making shaving cream marble cards during quarantine last year. So this year, I thought we would try making some Easter egg art with shaving cream for a spring craft.

Supplies:

  • Blank egg template
  • Shaving cream
  • Tray
  • Food coloring
  • Old table cloth (because it can get messy!)
  • Spatula

Directions:

  1. Lay out an old table cloth or find a place that you won’t mind getting messy (like outside)
  2. Spray shaving cream on the tray (just enough to make a thin layer when spread around)
  3. Put 1-2 drops of food coloring on different areas of the shaving cream
  4. Use the spatula to mix the shaving cream and food coloring (be sure not to over mix! it looks more like tye-dye when there are streaks of white mixed with the color)
  5. Cut the Easter egg blank out
  6. Place the Easter egg template in the shaving cream
  7. Wipe off the excess shaving cream with the spatula
  8. Set aside to dry
  9. Wash off shaving cream and start again to make different colors

Salt Painted Easter Eggs

Salt painted Easter eggs are a crafty way to create unique Easter eggs with a little glue, salt, and water color!

Supplies:

  • Glue
  • Salt
  • Water color paint
  • Paint brush
  • Eater Egg blank printable

Directions:

  1. Use glue to outline Easter egg
  2. Then use glue to create a design inside the Easter Egg
  3. Pour salt on top of the glue, making sure all the glue is covered with salt
  4. Shake the extra salt onto a plate or bowl to use for another salt painting
  5. Let the glue dry and then start painting the salt glue with water color paint
