We started a new tradition in the crazy year of 2020, dropping off You’ve been Booed! treats for our friends and neighbors! This year we are continuing the fun with these new DIY Halloween balloons. Can’t wait to surprise our little friends with these adorable little guys!
You’ve been Booed is a fun little way to bring some Halloween cheer to friends and neighbors. Simply pick up some candy, small gifts like Halloween pencils, stickers, note pads, stamps, etc.
I’ve found some great treats at the dollar spot at Target and Target’s Halloween section like cute pencils, scented kinetic sand (only $1!), and stretchy little skeletons. Walmart also has cute treat bag items for $1 in their Halloween section.
I grabbed these little pumpkin buckets from Kroger’s Halloween section, but you can find something similar at the Dollar Tree.
You don’t have to spend a bunch of money on these little treats, the excitement of getting a surprise at the front door is the most fun for kids!
You’ve Been Booed Gift Ideas

Halloween Witch You’ve Been Booed Free Printable
Create this cute little witch floating by on her broom for a You’ve Been Booed gift.
All you need is a light green latex balloon, the You’ve Been Booed Halloween Balloon Characters printable, glue stick, tape, and fishing string.
Cut out the witches hat, eye lashes, cheeks, and witches body.
Then glue the hat, eyelashes, and cheeks onto the balloon.
Tie the fishing string around the base of the balloon and tape the witches body to the string/base of the balloon.
Finally, attach the fishing string to the bucket or gift bag you plan to use.
Add in candy, and you’re all done!
Spooky Mummy Halloween Balloon Free Printable
This little mummy is easy to make!
All you need is a black sharpie marker, white latex balloon, fishing line, and the You’ve Been Booed Halloween Balloon Characters printable.
First, use the black sharpie marker to draw lines across the white balloon so that it looks like wrapping on a mummy.
Cut out the eyes and mummy body.
Glue the eyes to the balloon.
Attach the fishing line to the base of the balloon.
Tape the mummy body to the fishing line/base of the balloon.
Tie the balloon to the bucket/gift bag and fill with candy!
Cute Black Cat Halloween Balloon
This cute little black cat is purrrfect for You’ve been Booed!
All you need is a black latex balloon, the You’ve Been Booed Halloween Balloon Characters printable, fishing string, glue stick, and tape.
Cut out the cat ears, cat body, and yellow eyes.
Tape the ears to the top of the balloon.
Glue the eyes to the balloon.
Tie the fishing string to the balloon.
Tape the cat body to the base of the balloon/fishing string.
Attach to the bucket/gift bag, and add candy to the bucket!
Tips for Making a Cute You’ve Been Booed Halloween Balloon Character
- Use 12″ latex balloons with helium. I got my balloons from Party City for $1.25 and added the hi-float to help them float for 24 hours. Latex balloons drop really fast!
- Make these balloon characters the day you hand them out or if you are using them for a party – make the day of the party.
- Print with regular paper NOT cardstock! Cardstock is too heavy and your balloon won’t float.
