Personally I’m using these bats for fun Halloween decor! I love the bat decor that looks like a swarm of bats flying across the wall or fireplace. To make our home festive we have added bats through out our home and even in the front yard!
Making a homemade bat for decorating is really easy!
Step 1: Use the printable downloads to create a bat stencil.
Step 2: Trace the bat onto card stock or other specialty paper. There are unique types of paper you can find at craft stores, everything from velvet paper, corrugated cardboard, and more. Foam paper is great for fake bats that will be used for Halloween decorations outside.
Step 3: Cut out the bat. Then fold the bat along the center line.
Step 4: Attach tape to the back of the bat and hang on the wall. If hanging fake bats outside in a tree, attach a string with hot glue gun to the wings of the bat so that it appears to fly.
Fold a crease line down the center of the bat. The wings will extend in the opposite direction. Then place a piece of mounting putty to the back of the bat on the center line and attach to the wall. Mounting putty works better than double sided tape, because double sided tape can ruin your walls.
