Make these adorable DIY Unicorn ornament paper crafts for the holidays or for a Unicorn birthday party activity!

This year my son’s 2nd grade class made 2 Christmas trees for a non profit called Tiny Trees that gives over night pediatric oncology patients a tiny 3 foot Christmas tree during the holidays. His class made a Unicorn themed Christmas Tree and a Star Wars themed Christmas tree to donate!

This DIY Unicorn craft was designed for 2nd grade kids to make on their own, with the exception of hot gluing the string to hang the ornaments. These Unicorn ornaments turned out really cute and work great for a class craft or for a Unicorn kids birthday party.

Unicorn Ornament Paper Craft

These ornaments are great for paper crafts to do in a classroom or at a kids birthday party! Use these unicorn ornaments as Christmas tree ornaments, garland for a unicorn birthday party, favors for a unicorn party or a fun activity for a unicorn birthday party.

SUPPLIES:

  • Free Printable Unicorn Template
  • Glitter card stock
  • 4 – 3 inch wood slices
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint (pink, blue, yellow)
  • Paint brushes
  • Glue
  • Decorative twine
  • Hot glue gun

DIRECTIONS:

1. Paint the back and edge of each of the 3″ wood circles pink, blue, and yellow. Let dry!

2. Cut out Unicorn ornaments: pink unicorn, blue unicorn, and yellow unicorn.

3. Use the glitter card stock paper to cut out horns. I chose blue, yellow, and pink glitter paper that matches the Unicorns. I cut the unicorn horn out without tracing one first. Here’s a Unicorn Horn Template if you want to make sure the horns are even and equal. I did use the unicorn horn template when I cut out horns for the class project!

4. Match the paint color to the color of the unicorn. First glue the Unicorn horn in the middle of the circle at the top. Then glue ears down to the side of the horn. Glue each unicorn face to the opposite side of the painted wood circle. Let dry!

5. Add decorative flowers around the horn with glue. I found flower sequins at Hobby Lobby for $1.99 for a bag with 100s of little flowers. We hot glued the flowers to the Unicorn horn.

6. Attach the decorative twine using hot glue to the back of the ornament.
